Canada’s Got Talent judge Lilly Singh has a new gig lined up as host of an upcoming CTV primetime game show called Battle of the Generations. The show pits contestants of different ages against each other in a trivia contest.

Singh wrote on Instagram that she’ll be “proudly repping all millennials” on the show, which will be executive produced by her company Unicorn Island Productions. She reportedly signed a deal with Blink49 Studies and Bell Media, which owns CTV, after her NBC talk show was canceled last year.

Battle of the Generations is being described as a “nostalgia-packed quiz show” in which contestants representing four different generations (Baby Boomer, Gen X, Millennial, and Gen Z) compete in pop culture trivia. The winner gets to enter “The Vault” for a chance to earn up to $25,000.

“I love a quiz show, so I’m very excited to host and executive produce Battle of the Generations with my company Unicorn Island,” Singh said in a statement posted to her Instagram. “I look forward to representing my fellow millennials across Canada and seeing all the generations bring it.”

Production on the first 20 episodes of the new show will reportedly begin in February of next year. Casting is now open, and you can find out more here.

Canada’s Got Talent Is Returning for Another Season

Canada’s Got Talent aired its comeback season earlier this year, with singer Jeanick Fournier being named the winner. The show was renewed for another season on Citytv, with the entire judging panel (Lilly Singh, Howie Mandel, Kardinal Offishall, and Trish Stratus) returning, along with host Lindsay Ell.

The show began filming auditions last month in a new venue, Fallsview Casino Resort in Niagara Falls. Judge Trish Stratus shared that the shows had been sold out, with even more people attending the audition tapings than last season.

A release date has yet to be announced for the new season of the show, but it’s expected to return sometime in the spring of 2023.
