Reba McEntire Talks Engagement to Rex Linn
Reba McEntire, 70, and Rex Linn, 68, have been dating since 2020. On Christmas Eve last year, Linn proposed to McEntire with a rose gold engagement ring surrounded by black diamonds. As the country star told USA Today, “It sparkles all the time, and it doesn’t matter that I don’t think I’ve ever cleaned it.”
“I’m having a blast. I feel like a teenager again,” McEntire told the outlet of her life since Linn popped the question. “It’s just a wonderful time.”
This will be McEntire’s third marriage. Her first husband was cattle rancher Charlie Battles, to whom she was married from 1976 to 1987. In 1989, she married music manager Narvel Blackstock, and they welcomed a son named Shelby together in 1990. McEntire and Blackstock divorced in 2015.
“I’m 70 years old, 50 years in the business, and I’m happier now than I’ve ever been in my life,” McEntire said. “God saved the best for last.”

McEntire, Linn Are Co-Stars on Happy’s Place
McEntire and Linn are more than just a couple — they’re also co-stars. The pair stars together on the NBC sitcom Happy’s Place, which is entering its second season this month. McEntire and Linn commute to the show’s set together from their home in Los Angeles.
“We’re great rehearsal partners. We’ll go to bed with our scripts and wake with them,” McEntire told USA Today. “But many mornings we sit out back and watch the hummingbirds while having coffee.”
This isn’t the first time the two have worked together. They first met on the set of the 1991 TV movie The Gambler Returns. McEntire and Linn reconnected 30 years later when McEntire made a guest appearance on Young Sheldon. Linn starred as Principal Petersen on the series.
McEntire shared that when Linn proposed to her, he said, “Would you marry me? I want to cross the finish line with you.” The couple confirmed their engagement in September, at the Emmys. They apparently have not made wedding plans yet.
