Dancing with the Stars Season 34 contestant Elaine Hendrix has updated fans about her future on the show after missing this week’s episode due to an injury. She and her partner Alan Bersten shared a video thanking everyone for their support.
Elaine Hendrix Updates Dancing with the Stars Fans
Elaine Hendrix was not present in the DWTS ballroom during Tuesday’s Halloween Night episode, as she had to go to the hospital for an injury. The Parent Trap actress explained in an Instagram video that she injured her ribs during Wicked Night the previous week, and they “seized up” during Tuesday’s rehearsal.
Doctors told Hendrix that with a few days of rest, she would be able to return to dancing. Rehearsal footage of her and Alan Bersten’s Argentine tango was shown instead of a live performance, and fans were able to vote for them. At the end of Tuesday’s episode, the couple was declared safe.
On Wednesday, Hendrix updated fans on her condition in a video with Bersten, sharing that she is “doing OK.” She added, “I am up and about. I’m tender, I am sore, but I am starting pain management today.”
The actress also shared that she would not be dancing again until Friday, saying she was “getting ready to be in that ballroom next Tuesday.” For Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night, Hendrix and Bersten will be dancing a Viennese waltz to “What the World Needs Now Is Love” by Dionne Warwick.

Hendrix, Bersten Thank Fans for Support
In their video update, Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten also thanked fans for their support and for voting for them to continue in the competition. As Bersten said, “We can feel it, and we appreciate it so much.”
“It’s palpable,” Hendrix shared. “All of your messages, I’m seeing it all. And I just want you to know that, first and foremost, I’m OK, and second of all, I am ready to go. And just thank you so much for all the love and support that you’re showing.”
Hendrix also thanked “the entire Dancing with the Stars team for taking such good care of me.” In her post, the actress also shared some behind-the-scenes photos of what her costume and hair would have looked like if she had been able to perform live in the ballroom.
The couple’s inspiration for their Argentine tango to “Bad to the Bone” by 2WEI & Bri Bryant was apparently the film Mad Max: Fury Road.
