Alaina made a surprise appearance at Brown’s sold-out show. The pair sang their song “What Ifs,” which appeared on Brown’s self-titled debut album in 2016. Brown is currently on his Blessed & Free Tour.
Alaina waited to come out until the song’s chorus, and the crowd went wild. At the end of the performance, the two singers shared a hug. Alaina posted a video from the special moment on Instagram.
“When your buddy from middle school asks you to sing with him at his first stadium show in your hometown,” Alaina wrote in the video. “We’ve come a long way from middle school choir class.”
In the caption, Alaina added, “Go Warriors,” referring to their middle school mascot.

The Singers Have Been Friends Since Middle School
Alaina and Brown attended the same Georgia middle school when they were younger. The pair met in chorus class, where Alaina encouraged Brown to show off his talent over the course of the year.
“He told me he didn’t sing,” Alaina said in a 2018 interview. “I think he said he only sang in the shower.”
They soon went their separate ways as they attended different schools, but Brown later saw Alaina competing on American Idol in 2011. She would end up coming in second place to Scotty McCreery, and her success on the show inspired Brown to try out himself.
Unfortunately, the show rejected him, but that didn’t stop him from continuing to pursue music. He’s since released two studio albums and earned two CMT Music Awards, as well as several AMAs.
