Country star Scotty McCreery is heading back out on the road! The 27-year-old won Season 10 of American Idol in 2011 with an authentic country sound well beyond his years. He posted a list of tour dates for his upcoming “You Time Tour” this summer.
For several of his tour dates, McCreery will be joining the country band Old Dominion as a supporting act. McCreery first toured with the group in 2019.
“I’m excited to reunite with Old Dominion for their Live from the Ballpark Tour,” he said. “These guys are not only amazing performers but great people, and this tour will be a blast. Plus, having been a pitcher on my high school baseball team, performing in these ballparks will be like coming home.”
McCreery Set to Release Fifth Studio Album
McCreery released the song “You Time” in September of last year. It is the first single off of his upcoming fifth album, which is set to release this fall. This will mark his first studio album since 2018.
“This last year I was glad to get more ‘you time’ with my wife Gabi than ever before, as well as a lot of ‘you time’ with some of my favorite songwriters via zoom as we created new songs for the upcoming album,” he said. “And now that we’re able to tour again, I cannot wait to get back on the road and have some ‘you time’ with fans this summer.
The song and tour have a special meaning for the North Carolina native who has grown even more of an appreciation for performing during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“This song’s message and timing really hit home for me and I hope we keep a few things like the intention of the time we spent with others this last year as we look ahead,” he said in the tour announcement. “I, for one, will never take going to a show or playing music live for fans for granted after this last year without it.”
