‘AGT’ Star Madilyn Bailey Released Her Debut Album While Pregnant

America’s Got Talent Season 16 star Madilyn Bailey recently released her debut album, titled Hollywood Dead. The singer also happens to be pregnant with her first child, due in November. Bailey recently told People what it was like to put out an album while expecting.
Madilyn Bailey Releases Debut Album While Pregnant
On August 23, Bailey dropped her debut album Hollywood Dead. The release happened just two months after she shared the exciting news that she and her husband James Benrud are expecting their first child together. They later shared that they’re having a girl.
“Literally, we found out I was pregnant and then a week later we were shooting the cover art for Hollywood Dead,” Bailey told People. “So, the entire time I’ve been pregnant, I’ve been making all the content for Hollywood Dead. I guess it gave me something to think about other than being pregnant because the first time you’re pregnant, everything’s scary.”
The singer has been keeping busy and “trying to get all of the last pieces of content created” before she gives birth in November. She explained, “We just have a few videos left to shoot. I just have to get it done.”
“She’s going to be a Thanksgiving baby,” Bailey shared, “and I do plan on taking some time off, but also I’ll probably say that for a couple weeks and then I’ll be ready to work.”

The Album Is About Moving to Los Angeles
Bailey also told People about the artistic direction of her new album Hollywood Dead, which features 12 songs about the singer’s experience moving to Los Angeles. The title track even features an homage to Weezer’s song “Beverly Hills.”
“There’s a little edgier rock section and then there’s a little poppier Katy Perry and Carly Rae Jepsen section,” she shared. “I think it’s a really good representation of all my pop influences and the story that it tells of my journey of moving to L.A. from start to finish.”
Bailey appeared on Season 16 of AGT in 2021, making it to the Semifinals before being eliminated. The singer currently has over 9.5 million subscribers on her YouTube channel.
