Will ‘Spain’s Got Talent’ Group Golden Buzzer Inspire the ‘AGT’ Judges to Do the Same?

The night has finally come where the America’s Got Talent judges are ready to make history on the show. They will be hitting the first-ever group Golden Buzzer for one lucky act. All four judges and Terry Crews already hit their individual Golden Buzzers this season. While it will be the first group Golden Buzzer for America’s Got Talent, it is not the first unanimous Golden Buzzer in the ‘Got Talent’ franchise.
‘Spain’s Got Talent’ Sets Trend Before First-Ever ‘America’s Got Talent’ Group Golden Buzzer
During Season 6 of Spain’s Got Talent, all of the judges hit the group Golden Buzzer for drag queen Chus Serrano. Chus went on the show to open doors for himself and that’s exactly what he did. The judges could not let this act walk away without all hitting the group Golden Buzzer. Opera singer Dennis Manzanares wowed the judges this year with his Spain’s Got Talent performance too. He earned yet another group Golden Buzzer.
Typically, the Spain’s Got Talent judges have the option of choosing one act in each episode to receive the all-way Golden Buzzer. It’s a huge honor for all of the judges to agree unanimously to send an act through to the next round of the competition. They refer to this on the show as the “Golden Pass.”
The judges also all hit the Golden Buzzer during Florencia Pasquet’s performance in 2019. She sang “The Hills Are Alive” from The Sound Of Music. The judges were completely blown away by the range of her voice and how well she was able to perfectly execute the Julie Andrews classic. Florencia spoke about her connection to the number five. The four judges and the host decided to honor this and make her dreams come true with a five-way Golden Buzzer.
America’s Got Talent is definitely adopting the group Golden Buzzer from Spain’s Got Talent this season. Opera singer Victory Brinker is a favorite to earn this special honor. Frank Sinatra tribute singer Matt Mauser was also another good guess as to who all of the judges will mutually agree upon for the Golden Buzzer. So far, the judges have awarded Golden Buzzers to Léa Kyle, Northwell Health Nurse Choir, Jimmie Herrod, Nightbirde, and World Taekwondo Demonstration Team.
