‘The X Factor UK’ Finale Gets Good Ratings…For ‘The X Factor UK’
Reading Time: 1 minutes
It’s not exactly a secret that The X Factor UK has been suffering in the ratings all season. If we’re being honest, the ratings have sucked for years. That’s why Simon keeps changing stuff around. But it hasn’t really worked. However, the show had its highest rated night of the season for the finale this past Sunday.
The X Factor UK got 5.3 million viewers, which isn’t the 17 million they used to get back in the day, but it’s a decent number. I mean, it’s a decent number for The X Factor. Compared to the shows here in America, it’s pretty bad. More importantly, compared to its mortal enemy Strictly Come Dancing, X Factor doesn’t come close. ITV keeps saying that they aren’t going to cancel the show. It’s a British institution like the monarchy or bad dental health. In general, though I enjoyed this season, I just think the show is slowly losing steam. Like anything, TV shows have a lifetime. Sometimes, though it may hurt you, you have to put a show out of its misery like a sick cat.
I’m not saying that I want them to cancel the show because we really like it at Talent Recap. I’m just saying that I don’t know how long they can keep this train going.
