Robert Irwin’s Latest ‘DWTS’ Dance Has Over a Million Views — Has He Already Won?

Reading Time: 2 minutes
Less than 48 hours after Robert Irwin paid tribute to his mom Terri on Dancing with the Stars Season 34, his contemporary routine has over a million views on YouTube. Is this a sign that Irwin has pretty much already won the season?
Robert Irwin’s DWTS Dance Gets Over a Million Views
On Tuesday’s Dedication Night, Robert Irwin honored his mom Terri with a moving contemporary dance set to “You’ll Be in My Heart” by Phil Collins. He and his partner Witney Carson earned a total score of 35 out of 40 for the routine.
Although Irwin wasn’t at the top of the leaderboard for this week’s show, his performance has already accumulated over a million views on YouTube. Other performances from Tuesday night don’t even come close to that number.
To put it into perspective, the top-scoring dance of the night, from Dylan Efron and his partner Daniella Karagach, only has about 325,000 views as of this writing. Irwin has consistently had the most-viewed dances on YouTube this season, with three other videos surpassing a million.

Has Irwin Already Won the Mirrorball?
When Irwin first entered the ballroom with an energetic jive in the premiere episode, viewers predicted that he would be taking home the Mirrorball trophy. Although he hasn’t remained at the top of the leaderboard every week since, he’s clearly a fan favorite.
Dancing with the Stars results are based on both the judges’ scores and the votes from viewers at home. If the amount of views Irwin is getting online is any indication of how many votes he’s receiving, then he likely doesn’t even need to top the leaderboard each week to make it all the way to the finale.
Although Irwin is undoubtedly working hard and showing off an incredible talent on the dance floor each week, it’s clear that his personality and family legacy have won the hearts of fans at home. That could be enough to earn him the Mirrorball trophy when DWTS Season 34 comes to a close.
