Jordin Sparks Reacts To Being Judged By Paula Abdul AGAIN On ‘The Masked Dancer’

On Wednesday night’s new episode of The Masked Dancer, singer Jordin Sparks was revealed to be the Exotic Bird. The American Idol winner reunited with judge Paula Abdul for the show.
Paula even correctly guessed that Jordin was under the mask! Jordin recently told Entertainment Weekly what it was like to be judged by Paula once again on another talent show.
Jordin Sparks On Reuniting With Paula Abdul
Jordin Sparks told EW that she found out former American Idol judge Paula Abdul would be a judge on The Masked Dancer about a week into rehearsing for the show.
“And I could not believe it,” she said. “I just thought to myself, how is it that I started off on a stage with Paula sitting at the judging panel, and now I’m here again some 13 or 14 years later on the stage with Paula sitting at the judges’ panel again?”

“I love Paula,” Jordin continued, “she was always so kind to me when I was on Idol all those years ago, and every time I’ve seen her or done anything that she’s been involved with, she has just always been so kind.”
Jordin even danced to Paula’s song “Opposites Attract” on the show. She said she was nervous to do it, adding, “I really wanted to do it justice for her.” Paula seemed to love the performance, and was perceptive enough to recognize Jordin under the costume.
Jordin’s Friends Thought She Was On ‘The Masked Singer’
Jordin told EW that only one of her acquaintances — her best friend since childhood — figured out that she was the Exotic Bird. However, her friends previously thought she might be the Seahorse on the last season of The Masked Singer.
“Which is funny because it was my other friend, Tori Kelly,” Jordin said. “We all know each other. And I didn’t confirm or deny because I love the idea of the show and the guessing game. So I didn’t want to ruin it for them.”

She said no one but her father and one other person even knew she was on the show. “I’m excited for my family to see what they say,” Jordin said.
Since winning American Idol Season 6 in 2007, Jordin has released four studio albums and several EPs. In 2017, she married Dana Isaiah, with whom she has a son. Jordin has a new song called “You Still Think of Me,” and told EW that “there’s going to be a lot of music coming this year.”
