Hayley Erbert, Derek Hough Announce They’re Expecting Their First Baby

Dancing with the Stars couple Hayley Erbert and Derek Hough announced on Tuesday that they’re expecting their first child together. The two dancers, who tied the knot in 2023, shared the news in a touching Instagram post.

On Tuesday, the couple posted a video on Instagram in which they embrace and share a kiss. As they hug, Erbert then unrolls a series of sonogram photos. The clip is set to the song “So Small” by Alexander Jean — the music duo featuring former DWTS pro Mark Ballas and his wife BC Jean.
“We can’t believe the biggest thing to happen to us could be so small,” the post’s caption reads, along with a heart emoji. The announcement received an outpouring of love from the couple’s DWTS family in the comments.
“Truly no words can match this blessing!!!! Auntie Britt is ready! Love you both so much,” wrote pro dancer Britt Stewart, while Rylee Arnold called it “the best news ever.” Pete Murgatroyd wrote, “Love you guys! Congratulations!!”
Pro Sasha Farber commented several heart-eye emojis, while Jenna Johnson wrote, “OMGGGG!!!! Baby Hough. Cannot wait to meet you!!!!!!” Former pro Lindsay Arnold wrote that she’s “so beyond happy for you both.”

The Couple Tied the Knot in 2023
According to People, Hough and Erbert started dating back in 2015, when Erbert was appearing on DWTS as a troupe member. However, they didn’t go Instagram official with their relationship until 2017. They announced their engagement in 2022.
The couple ended up tying the knot in August 2023, in an outdoor ceremony in Monterey County, California. Just a few months later, Erbert was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with a cranial hematoma from a burst blood vessel. She underwent an emergency craniectomy.
The couple postponed the rest of their Symphony of Dance Tour, which picked back up the following spring. In April 2024, it was announced that Erbert would be returning to the tour.
