On Tuesday night, The VoiceSeason 19 finale aired, and a winner was finally crowned. It was all up to the viewers at home to choose which of the Top 5 artists from Monday’s performance episode should take home the trophy.
The competition came down to finalists Carter Rubin (Team Gwen), Desz (Team Kelly), Ian Flanigan (Team Blake), Jim Ranger (Team Blake), and John Holiday (Team Legend).
John Holiday finished in fifth place, Desz was in fourth place, and Ian Flanigan was in third place. That put Carter Rubin and Jim Ranger in a Gwen vs. Blake top two. At the end of the night, the winner was announced to be … Carter Rubin!

Carter Rubin Crowned Winner Of ‘The Voice’ Season 19
Carter was just 14 years old when he auditioned for the show, turning Gwen Stefani and John Legend’s chairs. He’s since turned 15, and has shown off a powerhouse voice this season, covering songs like “You Say” and “Rainbow Connection.”
During Monday night’s finale, Carter performed a cover of “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus, as well as his new single “Up From Here.” His coach Gwen told him, “It feels like you’re just meant to be doing this.”
Carter is the youngest male contestant to win the show. This also marks coach Gwen Stefani’s first win on The Voice. Although she’s coached five seasons, on and off, she’s never had an artist earn the top prize. Congratulations to Gwen and Carter!
Things were a little bit different this season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Although contestants were able to appear in the studio this time, there was no live audience, and the coaches had to practice social distancing. However, the talent was just as impressive as it’s always been.
We can’t wait until Season 20! Although a premiere date has yet to be announced, we do know that Nick Jonas will be returning to the show as a coach, so get excited.
