Blake Shelton Wants THIS Former ‘Voice’ Coach To Perform At His Wedding
Blake Shelton gave a little teaser about his wedding to Gwen Stefani during a virtual appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers. Every wedding needs music and Blake has the perfect idea on who to hire for the reception.
Which ‘Voice’ Coach Does Blake Want To Perform At Wedding To Gwen Stefani?
Seth asked about how two musicians choose a band to play at their wedding since they know so much about music. He called it a “high-pressure gig.” Blake being the jokester that he is had the most epic response. “I’ve kind of decided that I’ve been doing this a long time now and I’ve got a lot of favors out there,” Blake said. “He may not like it, but Adam Levine’s gonna have to get the band together and come and play our wedding.”
“I’ve already seen a music video where they crash people’s weddings and he owes me a lot for just putting up with him over the years” Blake continued. In the Maroon 5 music video for “Sugar,” Adam and the band attend a bunch of weddings which is a major shock to the guests and the brides and grooms. “So I think we can get Adam to come be our wedding band” Blake added. The pair had quite a love-hate relationship when they worked together on The Voice.
Seth joked that Blake and Gwen should turn their chairs around like they do on The Voice when Adam and the band are playing. Blake said that he liked the idea. “Plus, their music is so boring that it won’t distract from the festivities and the reception and all that stuff,” Blake said. Seth also suggested that Maroon 5 should play in a separate barn at the wedding where people can go and relax.
Blake Revealed That Gwen Teased Their Engagement Before They Officially Announced It
The day before Blake and Gwen announced their engagement on Instagram back in October, Gwen appeared on Late Night With Seth Meyers. Seth questioned why Gwen kept the news a secret during the broadcast.
“She kept doing this with her hand and wondering if people would figure out that she was wearing an engagement ring,” Blake said. “I told her, I said, ‘You know, you wear more jewelry than Mr. T, so I don’t think people picked up on that.’ And they didn’t. You could have figured it out though, she was giving you hints.”
Seth said it was hard to pick up on the hints that Gwen was dropping because it’s just difficult when interviewing someone over Zoom. “It was right in front of me and I missed it,” he said. Luckily, the couple posted a picture on Instagram to share the engagement news and have since been looking forward to their wedding. However, the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has definitely put a wrench in some of their plans.
The couple first met on the set of The Voice and began dating in 2015 after bonding over similar situations with divorce. They sparked engagement rumors throughout the entirety of their relationship and now they are finally true. Check out their full relationship timeline in the What’s Hot Video below.
