We can’t wait to see Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton reunite for Season 17 of The Voice. This will be Gwen’s fourth season on the show, as she returns to replace Adam Levine as coach. She and Blake met on the show in 2014 and started dating the next year.
The Voice has released a new preview of the upcoming season, and it features Gwen and Blake gushing about each other. We already know they’ve got a friendly rivalry going on, but it sounds like they’re genuinely happy to be working together again. All the people speculating about Gwen and Blake’s split can just shut up. Ya’ll break our hearts okay? Team #shefani forever.
Gwen Stefani And Blake Shelton Gush Over Each Other
“I am so happy to be back. My life changed so much on this show,” Gwen says of her return in the new clip. “And then to be with my best friend Blakey? And to be here with Kelly and John? I feel pretty lucky right now.”
Blake seems to feel the same way, as he shared, “I always love having Gwen on the show … She literally makes my day 100 percent better.” In a sweet moment from this season, Blake can be seen telling an unidentified contestant, “I love your coach” while pointing to Gwen.
Still, it looks like there will be plenty of competition between them, as Gwen will block Blake at one point.
In the preview, John Legend jokes to a contestant, “You’re personally responsible for breaking up one of America’s favorite couples.”
What The Other ‘Voice’ Judges Think Of Gwen Stefani
Blake isn’t the only one who’s excited to have Gwen back on the show. “I’m excited to work with Gwen,” Kelly Clarkson says in the video. “I literally grew up in my room singing to her. So I’m like a superfan.”
“Gwen Stefani is a legend. She has been so successful in this business,” adds last season’s winner John Legend. “She is a fantastic addition to The Voice.”
How Does Gwen Stefani Feel About Returning?
“I think it’s so inspiring to be around all the music, and seeing all this talent,” Gwen says in the preview. “And being able to share and look back on my own journey? There’s something really fulfilling about that.”
“I’m back, and this is my season to win,” Gwen says at the close of the video. Considering she’s never won in any of her previous seasons, that would be pretty exciting.
The Voice returns Monday, September 23, at 8/7c on NBC.
