‘The Voice’: Gwen Blocks Blake On National TV! Fans Riled Up For Season 17
The Voice is teasing plenty of fun moments between Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton next season. The show shared a new sneak peek this week on Twitter, and it’s chock-full of Shefani shenanigans.
In case you missed the big news, Adam Levine announced his departure from the show after 16 seasons. Past coach (and Blake Shelton’s current girlfriend) Gwen Stefani was recruited to fill his chair on Season 17.
“Shefani” In Season 17: Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton
Some fans might be wondering if the Shefani moments in the new season will live up to 16 seasons’ worth of Shevine banter (that’s Blake Shelton and Adam Levine’s nickname, by the way). But it looks like they have nothing to worry about.
“I’m very excited to see America’s favorite couple fight it out,” fellow coach John Legend says in the new preview, and Kelly Clarkson seems to agree. At one point, Blake says he’s “probably going to pay for this later,” with Kelly suggesting he’ll get “no cuddles.”
But it looks like Gwen is just as willing to fight dirty, as the video shows her blocking Blake. “Why are you doing this to me? I thought you loved me!” Blake says.

More To Look Forward To This Season
Shefani may be the focus of the new video, but it also gives us a few other things to look forward to. John Legend now has bragging rights as the reigning champion, and Kelly Clarkson is looking forward to a little friendly competition between “the blondes against the bros.”
Both Kelly and Gwen appear to have created swag for their new team members, and Blake seems to have gotten in on the fun as well. At one point, he holds up a pair of camo pants that reads “TEAM BLAKE” on the legs.
The Voice returns to NBC for Season 17 on September 23 at 8/7c.
