Ed Sheeran Talks Super Bowl Halftime Show
As fans speculate about who might be headlining the Super Bowl halftime show next year, Ed Sheeran has seemingly taken his name out of the running. However, he might consider joining another artist’s performance at the big game.
“I don’t think that anyone wants to see me do the Super Bowl either,” Sheeran told SiriusXM, according to Rolling Stone. “I think that would be the only way that I would do it, is if I was joining someone else.”
The English singer called the halftime show “an American thing,” adding that he doesn’t “have pizazz.” He admitted, “I’m not gonna have dancers on stage. I’m not gonna have fireworks and blah blah. I just can’t, that’s not me.”
Sheeran did reveal that there were talks about him potentially joining Coldplay for a performance of “Thinking Out Loud” at the halftime show in 2016, but it didn’t end up happening.

The Singer Is Teasing a New Album
Earlier this year, Sheeran released his sixth studio album, Subtract. He shared that he replaced a decade’s worth of songs for the album with a new tracklist inspired by a difficult year. Now he’s gearing up to release the original version of the project.
“It’s an album about Autumn,” Sheeran told SiriusXM. “I kind of have no expectations for it. It was the album I was trying to make and then – [Subtract] happened. I kind of have finished it over the last year and yeah, it’s ready to come out, so I’m gonna put it out.”
Earlier this week, Sheeran teased the new project with a funny social media clip. The end of the video features the phrase “Autumn Variations,” which could be the album’s title.
