Earlier this week, The Kelly Clarkson Show officially came to an end. Host Kelly Clarkson capped off the seventh and final season of her talk show by performing the most requested cover song for her popular Kellyoke segment — “Golden” from Kpop Demon Hunters.
Kelly Clarkson Ends Talk Show with ‘Golden’ Cover
The Kelly Clarkson show features a regular segment called Kellyoke, in which Clarkson shows off her vocal skills by performing covers of popular songs. For her final episode, Clarkson chose to perform a song that has frequently been requested by fans — “Golden” from the Netflix animated film Kpop Demon Hunters.
The performance proved just how talented Clarkson is, as she showed off her incredible range with some soaring high notes. As of this writing, the video has over 2 million views on YouTube, and people online have praised Clarkson’s vocals on the track.
Fans were impressed by the performance, not only because Clarkson sang the song in its original key, but also because she didn’t omit the Korean lyrics. Even Clarkson’s fellow singers couldn’t deny how amazing she is.
“I mean literally blown away. She can sing absolutely anything!” Rita Ora commented on Instagram, while Jewel wrote, “Incredible. Your control and range are just so sick.”
At the end of Kelly Clarkson’s final talk show episode, which aired on Monday, she was joined by her children River and Remy before saying goodbye to her audience for the very last time.
“I loved being in your homes each day,” Clarkson said. “I loved seeing my kiddos grow up on this show as well. I have immeasurable gratitude for everyone: the crew, the band, everybody here — thank you so much. It’s been an incredible opportunity. Thank you for connecting with us.”
Fans won’t have to wait long to see Clarkson back on their televisions. She’s a coach for Season 30 of The Voice, which will premiere on NBC on Monday, September 21, at 8 p.m. ET.
