BIO: Val Chmerkovskiy joined the cast of Dancing With the Stars as a professional dancer on season 13 (2011). He has won two mirrorball trophies, first with Rumer Willis in season 20, and the second with Laurie Herendez in season 23. Chmerkovskiy also appeared as a judge on Dancing With the Stars Juniors in 2018.
Chmerkovskiy got his start in dancing when at his parents youth-oriented dance studio in New Jersey. This world renowned ballroom dancer began earning titles at a young age. At the age of 15, he and dance partner Diana Olonetskaya became the first American dance team to win a world junior championship title. He is currently a 14-time US National Champion and two-time World Dance Champion. He was the first ever American to win the IDSF World Championship.
