Reading Time: 3 minutes
America’s Got Talent finalists and country group Chapel Hart is asked fans for prayers as their frontwoman underwent vocal cord surgery. The lead singer was admittedly very nervous about the whole procedure but is hopeful to make a full recovery soon.
Sisters Danica and Devynn Hart, and their cousin Trea Swindle have come a long way since their AGT run. The group has since embarked on their nationally created career. For those who may not know, this group had multiple songs hit No. 1 on iTunes during the show.
Due to their popularity, they were invited to perform at the Grand Ole Opry. Chapel Hart will seemingly take a break from live performances in the coming months, due to Danica’s surgery.
Danica Hart Undergoes Vocal Cord Surgery
On October 28, the group shared a photo of their lead singer in a hospital bed. Within the caption of the post, they revealed the nature of the surgery.
“Well IG your girl had to have vocal cord surgery and I was nervous about sharing with everyone…” Chapel Hart wrote. “But I felt like y’all have been on this journey with us through the good, bad, & the ugly so I figured we wouldn’t stop now! I am on the road to recovery and will be updating y’all as I go!”
Later, they candidly shared more details about her surgery. Within the follow-up post, the group thanked their fans for the get-well gifts, prayers, and good vibes.
This post also gave an update on the singer’s health, assuring fans that she’s on their third day of recovery and vocal rest. The photo specifies that day three of recovery featured a sore throat and light headache. In addition, Danica is on vocal rest and she can only eat soft foods and liquids. Above all, Danica still has a smile on her face as she’s teaching her husband Darrick sign language.
It will take a month or two before the group can perform at their best for their fans again. In the meantime, fans hope that the surgery doesn’t have a lasting effect on the lead singer’s vocals.
Chapel Hart’s Music Caught the Attention of Country Legends
The group’s AGT performance and music have garnered them international fame which caught the attention of several country music legends. These big names include Darius Rucker, Dolly Parton, Tanya Tucker, and the late Loretta Lynn.
The group had collaborated with Rucker before the surgery, releasing the single “Ol’ Church Hymn.” The single left fans emotional as the trio’s voices delicately dances around Rucker’s vocals. Chapel Hart recently also did a tribute to Lynn who requested the group to remake one of her songs before passing. Honoring the late singer by fulfilling her request of adding their own twist to her song and posted the clip on Twitter.
In an interview, Chapel Hart said having the support of “outlaw women of country,” like Parton and Lynn meant the world to them. Chapel Hart will continue collaborating with other artists both in and out of country music in the future.
