Britney Spears Finalizes Divorce from Ex-Husband Sam Asghari

Britney Spears has reportedly finalized her divorce from her ex-husband Sam Asghari, who filed to end the marriage last year, a little over a year after they tied the knot. This was Spears’ third marriage.
Britney Spears Finalizes Divorce from Sam Asghari
TMZ reports that, according to legal documents, Spears and Asghari finalized their divorce on Monday, December 2 — which happens to be Spears’ 43rd birthday. Asghari filed for divorce from Spears in August 2023, after 14 months of marriage.
According to the outlet, a judgment was entered in the couple’s divorce case back in May of this year, but they weren’t able to be declared legally single until this month. That meant that they couldn’t legally marry anyone else until now.
The couple reportedly had a prenuptial agreement before their June 2022 wedding, with TMZ reporting last year that Asghari was not due to receive a payout or spousal support in the event of a divorce. All he would be able to keep is his cars and any gifts from Spears.
In May, when the couple’s divorce was settled, a source told People that “the prenup was not challenged” and things were “amicable” between the two.

This Was Spears’ Third Marriage
Spears has been married three times. Her first marriage, to her childhood friend Jason Alexander, lasted only 55 hours. The pair tied the knot in Las Vegas in 2004, but the marriage was quickly annulled.
“People have asked me if I loved him. To be clear: he and I were not in love,” Spears wrote in her 2023 memoir, The Woman in Me. “I was just honestly very drunk —and probably, in a more general sense at that time in my life, very bored.”
Later that same year, Spears married dancer Kevin Federline. The pair welcomed two sons together. In 2006, Spears filed for divorce from Federline. They reached a settlement in March of the next year, and their divorce was finalized in July 2007.
Spears first met Asghari in 2016 on the set of her “Slumber Party” music video. The pair got engaged in 2021 and tied the knot the next year. Before their wedding, Spears announced that she was pregnant with their first child together, but she later suffered a miscarriage.
