Britney Spears and her estranged husband Sam Asghari are reportedly still working out the details of their divorce. Asghari filed to end their marriage in August 2023, just 14 months after they tied the knot.

Britney Spears, Sam Asghari Still Going Through Divorce

According to Us Weekly, Spears and Asghari signed a prenuptial agreement before getting married in 2022. However, sources are now claiming that Asghari wants to get more money from Spears out of the divorce.

“Sam feels he should be compensated properly for everything he went through with Britney,” the source claims. “The exact amount he wants is being kept confidential, but he’s not happy with what Britney and her team have proposed.”

A second source told Us Weekly that Asghari is “going for everything under the sun” in his divorce from Spears. According to the prenup, Asghari was reportedly supposed to receive $1 million for every two years of marriage to Spears. The settlement is apparently “stuck in limbo,” with “a lot of wrangling back and forth.”

Spears is apparently no longer paying for Asghari’s apartment now that they’ve split. A third source told the outlet, “She wants to stick to the letter of the paperwork and feels that’s all he’s entitled to, period.”

Did Asghari Use Spears to Meet Brad Pitt?

Earlier this month, Asghari took to Instagram to share a photo of himself smiling next to actor Brad Pitt at an event. The U.S. Sun reported that Asghari had name-dropped Spears in order to get the photo with Pitt.

Spears is apparently unhappy that Asghari is using her name to hang out with celebrities at industry events. A source said, “She feels Sam is playing the ‘Mr. Britney Spears’ card for everything it’s worth, and she finds it kind of pathetic.”

The singer had a big year in 2023. Aside from her divorce, her tell-all memoir The Woman in Me was released in October.
