Earlier this week, Snow Cone was unmasked as former The Hills star Heidi Montag on The Masked Singer Spice Girls Night. After the reveal, Montag shared in an interview that appearing on the show as a “dream come true” for her.
Heidi Montag Talks About The Masked Singer
During Wednesday’s new episode of The Masked Singer Season 14, Snow Cone performed “Wannabe” by the Spice Girls. She was later eliminated from the competition and unmasked as Heidi Montag of The Hills fame.
In an interview with Gold Derby, Montag shared that she had been in talks to potentially appear on the show since all the way back in Season 1, so finally getting a chance to compete was “a dream come true.” She added, “It was an honor to be Snow Cone. It was such a fun experience, and honestly the best show I’ve ever been involved in.”
The reality star said it was her “first time being able to perform on stage without being judged or criticized just for being Heidi Montag.” She joked, “When you’re in that mask, it’s like, I could be Ariana Grande in here! Nobody knows. It was freeing.”
Unfortunately, Montag experienced a vocal cord hemorrhage during the show from “straining too hard.” As she explained, “My helmet was just so heavy, so I was lifting up my neck to try to hold it and then singing hard as well. The combination took me out of the competition.”
Heidi Montag’s husband Spencer Pratt also appeared on The Masked Singer this season, although he didn’t sing. He acted as her hype man, known as Mr. Snow. Montag told Gold Derby that it was “so fun” having her husband with her.
“He is so supportive. He’s always been so supportive,” Montag said. “With all my performances last year, he was always there and on the side of the stage. It just gave me that extra love and confidence. After this past year, to have that together and that support from the judges and the audience, we really needed that. That was a big blessing for us and for our family.”
Montag and Pratt sadly lost their home in last year’s California wildfires. She shared that they “just don’t have the finances” to rebuild at this time, adding, “We barely could pay the mortgage on that house. We spent our whole careers to put a down payment on it. So we’re unfortunately in a place where we aren’t looking to rebuild and we’re not really sure where to go. We’re kind of displaced at the moment.”
Montag said she’s “going to stick to the pop music.” She has a new single called “Supermodel,” and her new album Masterpiece will be released soon.
