Blake Shelton Reveals What The Cast of ‘The Voice’ Should Give Him as a Retirement Gift
Reading Time: 2 minutes
The longest-running coach of The Voice, Blake Shelton sat down with his fellow coaches to talk about retirement gifts. It turns out that the country singer wants a lot more than just a bag of corn and soil for his retirement, like what his wife Gwen Stefani said.
Coaches Receive Blake Shelton’s Retirement Wish List
Although possibly premature, Blake Shelton is set to depart from The Voice after the upcoming season 23. In the upcoming 2023 season, he’ll return as a coach alongside Kelly Clarkson, and newcomers Niall Horan and Chance the Rapper.
Before his final season on the show takes place however, Shelton sat down with the current coaches to talk about what retirement gifts he’s love to receive from them. Even though Shelton’s current colleagues will not be in his final season with him, he’d still love to receive these gifts from them nonetheless.
Camila Cabello was first up in Shelton’s retirement wish list, wanting an all-terrain vehicle from the cuban singer.
“Whoa, very big, Santa’s budget is a little tight this year, I don’t know.” Cabello said
As John Legend chimed in, Shelton’s request for the EGOT winner is to give an entire pallet of his LVE wine to Shelton. An organization that manages beverage inventories claims that a pallet typically holds 56 cases of wine, or around 672 bottles, of wine. Legend seems to be all up for the idea of handing over the abundant supply of wine to Shelton for his retirement.
When it came time for what he wanted from his wife Gwen Stefani, Shelton requested something a bit more lenient. Although Shelton asked for whatever Stefani buys, she jokingly asked if she can decorate their Los Angeles house instead.
Carson Daly is Not Too Happy About His Friend Retiring Early
The Voice host Carson Daly is the only cast member who wasn’t present for the discussion of retirement gifts. It is understandable that Daly will miss having Shelton on the show, since they are the only remaining original cast members.
“I hate it. He and I obviously developed a great friendship at The Voice.” Daly said. “He’s got business things, we’ve got another show, Barmageddon, that we did together. So there’s a lot going on for him.”
Daly will become the last remaining cast member of The Voice after Shelton leaves, and he has no plans of retiring soon. He even joked that he’s going down with “The Voice ship,” planning on staying however long the show will take.
I think Neal McCoy will be the 1st on the list 28 years in the business and a judge on the Cowboys cheerleader check him out down to earth guy
Sad to see Blake go. The show won’t be the same without him. I can understand thought how he and Gwen want to have time to enjoy a slower life.
