Blake Shelton, Carson Daly Tease Upcoming Celebrity Game Show
It appears that some of the men from The Voice are going in a different direction for their upcoming game show. Barmageddon will take place in Shelton’s Nashville bar Ole Red, featuring Daly behind the bar, as well as Shelton on stage with his band.
WWE veteran Bella will lead celebrity friends through a series of head-to-head classic bar games. Each game has some type of fun twist. Reports state that these games include air cannon cornhole, keg curling, drunken axe hole, sharts (“Shelton Darts”) and more.
“It’s [the show is] called Barmageddon, they say write what you know, well we produced what we know. We know bars and having fun,” Daly said.
The official show description explains that each episode will feature two celebrities playing a unique set of games in the bar. The winner will give a much-needed prize to a viral internet sensation that they have chosen to support. The upcoming series describes the celebrities as people plucked from obscurity following their misadventures on the internet.
Competition ramps up when the losing rival of each round spins the Wheel of Redemption, which has hilarious consequences. Shelton and Daly will offer both words of encouragement and heckling. On occasion they may step into the show and show off their skills.
“Nashville is known for great music and hospitality, which makes it the perfect setting,” Shelton said. “I’m excited about Barmageddon and can’t wait for friends, old and new, to join my buddy Carson and me for some drinks, music and high-spirited fun at Ole Red.”
A premiere date for Barmageddon has yet to be announced at this time. Daly teased his brand new series on May 5, during the Today Show. During the announcement Daly explained that the world is complicated, but their show is not.
