The Voices That CONQUERED BGT! 🎤 Full Journeys of Every Singing Champion

1. Jon Courtenay

In 2020, Jon Courtenay took the BGT stage to sing an impressive, original song where he made fun of the judges, then told his life story. Following his song, his son Nathan joined him on stage. Simon Cowell and Alesha Dixon were notably moved by this audition, yet Ant and Dec took the opportunity to hit their Golden Buzzer.

2. Jai McDowall

In 2011, Jai McDowall took the BGT stage singing “Anthem” by Josh Groban. Amanda Holden and David Walliams were notably moved by this performance, calling his voice “powerful” and saying he “absolutely nailed it.”

3. Sydnie Christmas

In 2024, Sydnie Christmas took the BGT stage singing a rendition of “Tomorrow” from the musical Annie. Holden was so impressed with the performance, that she hit her Golden Buzzer. Cowell typically hates when people sing that particular song, but he admitted “now I love it” following her performance.

4. Colin Thackery

In 2019, Colin Thackery took the BGT stage singing “The Wind Beneath My Wings” by Bette Midler. The performance, which was dedicated to his late wife, didn’t leave a dry eye in the audience. Walliams called the performance “such a loving tribute.”

5. Collabro

In 2014, five man band, Collabro, took the BGT stage, singing “Stars” from Les Miserables. Ahead of voting “yes,” Cowell admitted he thought they “were going to be awful.” Instead, he called the audition “absolutely brilliant.”

6. Paul Potts

In 2007, phone salesman Paul Potts took the BGT stage for the first time, impressing with “Nessun Dorma” by Luciano Pavarotti. This audition fully embodied Potts goal to “spend the rest of my life doing what I was born to do [singing].” Right away, judge Piers Morgan admitted that Potts may win the competition.
