Britain’s Got Talent has shared an early release audition from this week’s new episode of Series 19, featuring a duo of Australian freestyle rappers named Macshane & Delby. The pair made up their performance on the spot based on what they saw in the audience.
Freestyle Rappers Wow in BGT Early Release Audition
Macshane & Delby introduced themselves to the judges by sharing that they flew 30 hours from Australia to audition, calling it “the best three minutes of our life.” They joked that they “must be quite insane,” as they “don’t know what they’re doing.”
They meant this literally, as they perform freestyle raps, making up rhymes on the spot about the audience. They asked the crowd and the judges to hold up interesting items, and they made up some funny raps about what they saw.
At one point, they asked BGT judge KSI what animal he would want to be, and he answered elephant. They proceeded to perform an extremely fast rap about elephants that stunned the judges. Alesha Dixon said they’re “probably the only act in Britain’s Got Talent history that’s come unprepared.”
Simon Cowell said he’s never seen a freestyle rap act featuring two performers, adding that he’s also “never heard it that fast, ever in my life.” All four judges voted “yes” to sending Macshane & Delby through.
Macshane & Delby’s audition will air during a new episode of BGT Series 19, on Saturday, February 28, at 7 p.m. on ITV1, ITVX, and STV. This will be the second episode of the season, following last week’s premiere.
This year, judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, and Alesha Dixon are back on the panel, alongside new judge KSI, who is replacing Bruno Tonioli. KSI previously served as a guest judge for part of last year’s competition. Ant & Dec are also back to host.
