New RuPaul’s Drag Race Features Iconic Lip Sync
After Friday night’s stand-up comedy maxi challenge, Marcia Marcia Marcia and Anetra were placed in the bottom two. They ended up delivering an amazing final lip sync performance for a chance to stay in the competition.
Marcia and Anetra lip synced to “Boss B*tch” by Doja Cat. The performance featured some wild acrobatic moves. At one point, Anetra did a somersault over Marcia while she was bent over backwards on the floor. As Marcia told Entertainment Weekly, the performance was “entirely improvised.”
“I did not know that she jumped over me until I got off stage and one of the PAs was like, ‘That was amazing, Anetra jumped over you!'” Marcia shared. “In those moments, you’re blacked out, doing whatever you can. I absolutely love Anetra, so when they told us, I was like, good, Anarcia until the end!”
Marcia added that her favorite Drag Race lip syncs are when “the queens are working together.” She called it “an honor and a privilege” to take the stage with Anetra.

Fans Think It Should Have Been a Double Shantay
At the end of the night, Marcia was eliminated from the competition as Anetra was saved. Some fans disagree with these results, arguing that their lip sync was so good, it deserved a double shantay — which is when both queens in the bottom two are saved from elimination.
News anchor Barbara-Lee Edwards responded to video of the lip sync on Twitter by writing, “So surprised by Marcia’s lip sync performance that I was expecting a double shantay.” Drag Race Season 11 alum Ariel Versace wrote, “Should have been a double save but here we are!”
Meanwhile, user @DavePollard98 tweeted, “THAT LIP SYNC WAS THE MOST DESERVING OF A DOUBLE SHANTAY THAT WE’VE SEEN IN YEARS. THEY SHOULD STILL BOTH BE IN THE COMPETITION.”
Marcia Marcia Marcia responded to the fan reaction on Twitter, writing, “I’ve never read the phrase ‘double shantay’ so many times in my life. I love y’all so much. Thank you for the support.”
