Reading Time: 2 minutes
American Idol Season 20 winner and runner-up Noah Thompson and HunterGirl have officially released their first song together. The new track is a duet version of Thompson’s existing single “One Day Tonight.” The pair performed the song during Sunday’s new Idol episode.
Noah Thompson, HunterGirl Release New Song Together
Thompson released “One Day Tonight” as part of his time on American Idol last year. Now HunterGirl has joined him on a new version of the country track. The two singers recently toured together, so it’s about time they released a duet.
The song is about a couple dreaming of their future together. As Thompson sings on the original track, “Lord, I hope this old boy can give her that life / So go home, girl / Pour a glass of wine / And dream aloud, talk about one day tonight.”
On the new version, HunterGirl performs the song’s second verse, changing the pronounces to refer to a male subject this time. Later in the song, the two singers combine their voices on the chorus.

The Pair Performed the Song on American Idol
Thompson and HunterGirl appeared on Sunday’s new episode of American Idol to perform “One Day Tonight” during a three-hour episode in which the Top 20 singers were revealed for Season 21 of the show.
Thompson began the performance alone on stage, before HunterGirl stepped out to join him. The singers took time during the performance to interact with fans in the audience, and they finished the song with a hug.
We can’t wait to hear even more from both of these artists. Earlier this month, Thompson teased a new song called “Middle of God Knows Where.” Meanwhile, HunterGirl recently released a single called “Lonely Outta You.” Both singers also have shows lined up around the country over the next several months.
