The Voice has officially released its first sneak peek for the upcoming season featuring former coaches, Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, and John Legend. Fans clearly have an exciting season headed their way, since singer Alexia Jayy earned first-ever Three-Chair turn.
First Three-Chair Turn of The Voice: Battle of Champions Released
The Voice is officially back on Monday, February 23. The brand new season, titled Battle of Champions features three former coaches, Levine, Clarkson, and Legend. In the first sneak peek features singer Alexia Jayy, who sang “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman” by Carole King.
The video opens with Clarkson turning for Jayy, rather quickly after the music begins. As she continues the song, the camera cuts to Clarkson, who is now standing in her seat and dancing, while Legend turns his chair, followed by Levine. This earned her the first three-chair turn of the season.
After the performance was over, all three coaches were seen standing, clapping, and smiling for the singer. It was clear that the fight for Jayy would be competitive, since each of the coaches seemed impressed.
The Singer’s Son is Obsessed with Maroon Five
When introducing herself, Jayy explained that she’s a singer and a full time mom. Her son, Matthew, then went on stage, where Clarkson called his mom a “badass” saying that he can’t say that word until he pays his bills. Legend then asked the child who he listens to, to which he called Maroon Five his favorite band.
Understandably, Levine was seen freaking out over Matthew picking Maroon Five as his artist of choice. He clearly could tell that Jayy’s son will have a sway in her decision, so he used that as a talking point.
“You have that voice that motivates me even more to say, you know what this is the best voice in the competition,” Levine said. “This is what has to win and we’ve got to make the right choices and so I have that feeling that I don’t get often, I think we all do.”
Levine finished out his statement saying that the singer is “one of the best we’ve ever seen,” before the video abruptly ends. Fans will have to tune into The Voice Battle of The Champions on Monday, February 23 at 9PM.
