Christina “Redd” Daugherty was eliminated way too soon on Season 19 of American Idol. Like many contestants after the show, she is working on her own album. The 28-year-old is calling on fans to help her raise enough funds to finish the album and will be repaying them in a very special way.
Christina ‘Redd’ Daugherty Seeks Donations Ahead of New Album Release
Redd is short $3,000 and set up a GoFundMe page to raise the money. She hopes to release her first album Monsters & Mothers in fall 2021. The money will go towards time in the studio as well as mixing and mastering the album.
“I’m trying to raise the remaining funds by the end of May to be set for the summer,” she wrote on Instagram. “Any and all help is appreciated.”
The names of all donors will be listed on the album’s cover to thank contributers. The high school English teacher’s album will have 10 songs with each song costing $500 each to record. Redd is currently dropping one single at a time “to make sure that each song gets the right amount of love.”
On American Idol, Redd performed during Hollywood Week with now Top 4 finalist Chayce Beckham. The pair sang “July” by Noah Cyrus and put us in our feels. They nailed the raw emotion of the song. Luke Bryan complimented the distinctive characters in her voice but did not think the song gave her a proper chance.
Redd was eliminated from the competition and Chayce broke down in tears. Katy Perry was convinced that the pair are in love without even knowing it. Is there anyone out there that isn’t in love with Chayce? Still, he is supporting his duet partner even after their time cut short on American Idol.
“Help my Hollywood Duet partner Redd raise money for her album,” Chayce wrote on his Instagram story.
