American Idol Season 23 returned on Monday night for the final episode of Hollywood Week, dubbed the “Head to Head” round. The remaining 42 singers paired up for duets, and the judges decided who should move on to the Top 24.

Who Made It Into American Idol‘s Top 24?

In Sunday night’s Showstopper round, four artists were given an automatic spot in the Top 24 — Canaan James Hill, Gabby Samone, Mattie Pruitt, and Zaylie Windsor. Based on the remaining performances in the Head to Head round, the judges chose 20 more artists to join them.

All three of this season’s Platinum Ticket winners have made it into the Top 24. In addition to Canaan James Hill, Filo and Kolbi Jordan also made it through. The Top 24 also includes The Voice alum Thunderstorm Artis and X Factor alum Drew Ryn, who performed a beautiful duet of “The Night We Met” by Lord Huron during Monday’s show.

Baylee Littrell, son of the Backstreet Boys’ Brian Littrell, also made it through, although judge Carrie Underwood informed him that it was “not a unanimous decision,” so she needs him to “step it up” moving forward.

Rounding out the Top 24 are Ché, Grayson Torrence, Penny Samar, Josh King, MKY, Victor Solomon, Amanda Barise, Kyana Fenene, Slater Nalley, John Foster, Isaiah Misailegalu, Olivier Bergeron, Desmond Roberts, Jamal Roberts, and Breanna Nix.

The Remaining Singers Are Going to Aulani

After the Top 24 were decided by the judges, the singers found out that they would be going to Disney’s Aulani Resort in Hawaii. This was after Carrie Underwood joked that they were going to her hometown of Checotah, Oklahoma.

Performing at Aulani has been a tradition for the Top 24 since American Idol moved to ABC several years ago. So the news probably didn’t come as much of a surprise to the contestants, but that didn’t stop them from celebrating.

The Top 24 performances will air over two nights, starting on Sunday, April 13. The second half will air on Monday, April 14. Who are you rooting for as we move into the next round? Let us know in the comments below.
