‘AGT’ Judges Stunned by 2-Year-Old Mathematician in Early Release Audition
Reading Time: 2 minutes
America’s Got Talent Season 19 premieres next Tuesday night, and the show has shared an early release audition from the first episode. It features Baby Dev, a 2-year-old mathematician who wowed the judges with his skills.
AGT Judges Wowed by 2-Year-old Mathematician
Baby Dev was accompanied by his dad in his audition for AGT Season 19. His dad asked the judges to give him numbers, which Dev then either multiplied or added together on a dry erase board. The first equation was relatively simple — he multiplied 7 by 9 to get 63.
Then Dev started to work with two-digit numbers, adding 44 and 13 to get 57. He even made sure to cross his 7 when writing it — and he also went back to cross the one his dad had written on the previous equation.
The final equation involved multiplying 79 by 7. The audience got to watch Dev’s process as he figured out how to solve it. At one point, when judge Howie Mandel made a comment, Dev got distracted. Mandel felt bad for interrupting.
He eventually figured out that the result was 553 — the correct answer. Host Terry Crews commented, “I can’t do that, and I’m 55 years old.” The audience cheered for Dev after the performance.

What Did the Judges Think of the Performance?
“Honestly, we were all sitting here thinking the same thing, which is, ‘Get us a calculator,'” Simon Cowell joked after watching Dev solve those equations. Heidi Klum chimed in to tell Dev that he’s “so amazing.” Sofia Vergara called it “one of the most fascinating things I have watched on AGT.”
All four judges voted yes to sending Dev through to the next round. You can watch his audition, and plenty more, when AGT Season 19 premieres on Tuesday, May 28, at 8/7c on NBC. The show will also be streaming on Peacock.
