‘America’s Got Talent’ First Look Teases Golden Buzzer Change for Season 19
Reading Time: 2 minutes
America’s Got Talent returns soon for Season 19, and the show has shared a first look video to give fans a taste of what they can expect this year. The video includes the revelation that the judges will each have two Golden Buzzers to give out this season.
America’s Got Talent Shares First Look at Season 19
The first look clip starts with a moment from an auditioning singer who works as a school janitor. The judges appear to be blown away by his talent. Judge Howie Mandel also teases that this season will feature the youngest contestant ever — a 2-year-old mathematician.
“I love that we have two Golden Buzzers this season,” Heidi Klum says later in the video, which serves as an announcement that fans can expect twice as much gold this year. Usually, each judge (plus host Terry Crews) can only hit the Golden Buzzer once per season.
Shows like Britain’s Got Talent and Canada’s Got Talent have recently been breaking the Golden Buzzer rules, so it only follows that AGT would loosen things up as well. We’ll have to wait and see which acts earn those extra Golden Buzzers this season.

When Does the New Season Premiere on NBC?
AGT Season 19 is set to premiere on Tuesday, May 28, at 8/7c on NBC, and streaming on Peacock. All four judges — Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Heidi Klum, and Howie Mandel — are returning for the new season, along with host Terry Crews.
The new first look video teases a number of acts that will be featured during the season, including acrobats, comedians, and dancers. There will also be an outdoor drone show that includes a giant portrait of Simon Cowell as an astronaut.
“The bar keeps getting higher and higher every season,” Vergara can be heard saying during the teaser. “They know that they really have to give their hundred percent to make it.”
