‘AGT: Fantasy League’ Recap: Mel B Steals Simon Cowell’s Act in Premiere
Reading Time: 2 minutes
On Monday night, NBC aired the premiere of America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League. The coaches each chose 10 acts to compete on their dream teams, and tonight we saw performances from the first group. During the show, judge Mel B hit the Golden Buzzer to steal Simon Cowell’s act, Billy & Emily England.
Mel B Steals Simon Cowell’s Act on AGT: Fantasy League
Each week, one of the judges will have the opportunity to send one of the night’s acts straight through to the Finals. That act could be someone on their own team, or it could be another judge’s act. If they hit the Golden Buzzer for an act on another judge’s team, that act moves to their team.
On Monday night, it was Mel B’s turn to hit the Golden Buzzer. She chose not to hit it for her own act, magician Jon Dorenbos. Instead, she hit it for one of Simon Cowell’s acts, brother-sister rollerskating duo Billy & Emily England, who competed on Season 12 of AGT.
Billy and Emily showed off some amazing tricks in Monday night’s performance, as Billy swung Emily around while she had flaming knives attached to her skates. After Mel hit the Golden Buzzer to send them to the Finals and steal them for her team, Emily admitted that she had wanted to be on Mel’s team.
The night wasn’t a total disappointment for Cowell, however. Another act on his team, Kodi Lee, ended up being voted through to the Semifinals by the show’s Superfans. The Season 14 winner performed an original song called “Stand Up.”

Howie Mandel Sends Four Acts Through
Judge Howie Mandel had a great night in Monday’s show. Mandel had four acts competing in the first episode, and all four of them moved on to the Semifinals. That includes Season 17 runner-up Kristy Sellars, who showed off an incredible pole dancing routine against dynamic projections.
Acrobatic dance team V. Unbeatable, who previously won AGT: The Champions, were also voted through to the Semifinals. They were joined by Shadow Ace, a shadow puppeteer who shared a funny routine that involved dancing on Mandel’s head.
Kseniya Simonova, a sand artist who won Ukraine’s Got Talent and wowed on Champions, was also sent through to the Semifinals thanks to the Superfans. She brought an emotional story to life using sand.
