Former The Voice coach John Legend initially thought that he and Chrissy Teigen’s first two kids would be jealous of their third born, Esti. Now though, he’s surprised and relieved that Luna and Miles are in a healthy competition for Esti’s attention.
John Legend Says Luna, Miles are “Doing So Well” with Esti at Home
During his latest appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, the “All of Me” singer shared how six-year-old Luna and four-year-old Miles have been reacting to the newest member of the Legend family. According to the singer, his two kids have brought “more energy and joy” to the house since Esti came home.
“Honestly, I was a little worried because I feel like when she was still inside Chrissy, they were like a bit jealous that mom was bringing a new baby into the world. But when she came out, they were like, they just snapped into place,” he said.
The singer went on to state that Luna and Miles have actually been trying to be good big siblings. Legend and Teigen welcomed baby girl Esti last January 13, after suffering pregnancy loss with son Jack over two years ago.
“They’re competitive sometimes though,” he said. “Sometimes they compete over who’s gonna be the best big sibling. Like, who gets to hold her more.”
Sharing he and Teigen’s parenting dynamics, Legend stated that he sometimes has the duty of changing Esti’s diapers. This role, he believes, is the least he could do to help his wife who basically does it all.
He Talks Bringing Uno Card Deck to Vanity Fair’s Oscars Party
Elsewhere in the interview, Legend also talked about Vanity Fair’s Oscar screening and dinner. Particularly, the singer revealed what he and Teigen decided to bring during the Academy Awards.
“We didn’t know who we were sitting with and Chrissy’s like, why don’t we bring an Uno card deck, just in case,” he said.
Recounting what happened that night, Legend stated that everybody at their table was “very talented and very cool.” He later said that they brought a stack of Uno cards so they could keep the conversation going, in case it got boring.
