Simon Cowell Walks Out Over Bad ‘AGT’ Acts, But THIS Changes His Mind
Reading Time: 2 minutes
Sometimes, the AGT judges get a string of bad acts, and Simon Cowell can’t deal with it. Such was the case last season, when three disappointing acts in a row led Simon to walk off the set.
Thankfully, the next act turned things around, and Simon’s mood was brightened. Check out his reaction to the bad acts in the video below, and read on to find out more about the act that changed things.
Simon Cowell Walks Out Of ‘AGT’ Over Bad Acts
In the video above, you can see Simon Cowell start to get annoyed over how many terrible acts were auditioning for AGT. It started with a man in an alien mask who performed an original song called “Funky Space.”
Surprisingly, Simon was the only judge not to buzz the act, although he did vote “no.” As time went on, he wasn’t so nice. He was the first to buzz a group of roller skating dancers in sparkly outfits.

Next up, a performance artist named Michael acted out a dramatic conversation with sock puppets on his hands. It ended with one of the puppets throwing up all over him. Needless to say, the judges buzzed it.
Howie Mandel suggested that the back door was open, and people were wandering onto the set to audition. Simon was so fed up with the bad acts, he stood up and announced that he needed a break, walking away from the table.
Double Dragon Turns Things Around For Simon
Simon Cowell seemed skeptical at first when Double Dragon took the stage. The twin sisters, who are originally from Peru, had been watching nervously from backstage as the acts before them got rejected.
When the sisters took off their capes and started belting out “It’s Raining Men,” Simon seemed pleasantly surprised, and smiled throughout their audition. “That’s what we needed right now!” host Terry Crews exclaimed when the performance finished.

All four judges voted “si” to letting Double Dragon through to the next round. Later, Simon approached them backstage and told them, “God, we needed you! You broke the curse. You saved us. Thank you.”
Double Dragon made it to the semifinals, where they were eliminated. But they’ll always be known as the act that broke the curse in Season 15.
