Kelly Clarkson Sang Relatable Selena Gomez Song On ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’
Kelly opened up the song with the lyrics, “Baby, you’ve been so distant from me lately / And lately don’t even want to call you ‘baby.'” Selena previously revealed the deep meaning behind the song and how it relates to her personal love life. She said that the lyrics came from a “point of exhaustion” where the “relationship has run its course.”
Kelly just ended her marriage to Brandon Blackstock back in June so the lyrics definitely hit home. The lyrics to the chorus of the song are “Why don’t you recognize I’m so rare?” Selena who has openly struggled with self-confidence said that these words are very important. She is singing about knowing that she is not perfect but knowing that she is special. The end message of the song is that there is a person out there for everybody. Even if you walk away from a toxic relationship, there is someone out there that is right for you.
“I love this song, but I really felt it from Kelly! She really showed her heart and what she’s going through. Wow, she made me feel something!” one fan wrote in the comments section on the video. Kelly recently bought a house to cope with all of the stress from her divorce. She was also awarded primary physical custody of her children, River and Remington in Los Angeles while Brandon seeks child and spousal support.
“This song fits her so well coz Kelly is a rare gem!! There’s no one like her. We should protect her at all cost!” wrote another person on YouTube praising The Voice coach. Others even said that she sounded like Selena herself in this song cover. It was recently announced that The Kelly Clarkson Show was picked up for two more seasons guaranteeing it will air at least until 2023.
Fans Are Eager To See Kelly Channel These Emotions In Her Next Album
Other people took to the comments section of the video to ask Kelly when she is dropping her new album. This highly-anticipated album will channel some of the emotions she has felt throughout the divorce process. She has been speaking about the songs she wrote during quarantine on The Kellly Clarkson Show and constantly teasing new music on the way.
“This next record, this will probably be the most personal one I’ve ever released,” Kelly told Willie Geist in an interview back in September. “The whole record is basically every emotion you experience from the beginning of a relationship to the end of what it is now.”
