Kelly Clarkson is forever dominating the music scene with her Kellyoke segment on The Kelly Clarkson Show. This time she took on Ariana Grande’s smash hit “No Tears Left to Cry.” The meaning behind this song is certainly relevant to Kelly’s personal life as she filed for divorce from Brandon Blackstock back in June.
Kelly Clarkson Took On An Ariana Grande Hit With A Deep Message
Kelly and Brandon have had their fair share of divorce drama lately. She recently was awarded primary physical custody of their two children River Rose, 6 and Remington Alexander, 4. Brandon is also requesting nearly half a million dollars a month in child and spousal support not to mention $2 million for legal fees. Needless to say, this anthem was definitely an ode to Kelly moving on from the relationship.
The song has a pretty deep meaning as it was Ariana’s comeback single after a very tragic year. After the bombing at her Manchester concert in May of 2017 that killed 22 people and injured 59, Ariana pushed through and turned the devastation into a celebration of life. Kelly embodied that into her cover of the song as she put her heart and soul into it.

She has mentioned time and time again on The Kelly Clarkson Show that 2020 has not been an easy year for her. But, she is turning her grief and strife into incredible music that will surely lead to an amazing 2021 for her.
“Hey, we have now realized family and friends matter so much and especially in this time 2020 has been a dumpster fire,” Kelly said in a previous segment on her show. Kelly finished the segment by saying that she is is “excited” about 2021. She also said she is grateful to have such a busy work schedule with The Voice and her talk show.

Kelly always has her die-hard fans in the comments section on YouTube that absolutely love everything that she performs. “She slays anything she does and makes it her own. She’s the voice of a lifetime. Queen Kelly!!!!” one fan of The Voice coach wrote.

“Ariana is my favorite artist of all time, but this is better than the original,” said another. Kelly previously covered “A Fool In Love” by Tina Turner. She showed off her superb vocal skills that the world has been falling in love with since she won American Idol in 2002.
