Gwen Stefani Confesses That She Was ‘Jealous’ Of Kelly Clarkson And She Had To Do THIS…
Ahead of her big win on The Voice season 19, Gwen Stefani stopped by The Kelly Clarkson Show to spill some major tea. Gwen had an unlikely inspiration behind her latest single “Let Me Reintroduce Myself” and it’s probably not what you think. Check out the video below where Gwen gives a backstory on her song.
Gwen Stefani’s Latest Song Was Inspired By Fellow ‘Voice’ Coach Kelly Clarkson
Gwen was glowing in a black sparkly jumpsuit as she walked out onto the stage on The Kelly Clarkson Show. She and Kelly Clarkson were both gearing up for the big finale on The Voice and chatted about everything going on in their lives including new music. Gwen’s newest single has so many references to her past and she hopes it will be a reintroduction for her fans. She revealed the inspiration behind it.
“Me being jealous of you made me want to do music because during the pandemic when you were texting me…” Gwen trailed off while pointing at Kelly. “She was texting me like all of these amazing songs that she had written and I’m thinking ‘How is she writing all of these songs.'”
“I’m like ‘I have no time’ like I’m cooking, cleaning, taking care of all of these kids,” Gwen said. “We were in Oklahoma for 100 days and that’s like three meals a day, laundry,” she continued. Kelly said that she was also taking on mommy duties for her two children as well but found time to write. Gwen said that though quarantining with Blake Shelton and her three children at his Oklahoma ranch was fun, she was seriously “missing music.”
Kelly complimented the title of Gwen’s single and the message behind it. Gwen had two country hits with Blake and is now finally settling back into releasing her own singles. She said that “Let Me Introduce Myself” came after being inspired by other people.
