The Voice Recap: The Battle Rounds Continue

It’s night two of the battle rounds, and not much has changed since yesterday’s episode. The level of talent is sky high, and Adam Levine is still blonde. The judges had a lot of tough choices to make, but it looks like we have another solid group heading into the knockout rounds.

Jorge vs. Amber (Team Kelly)

Opening the night with Hailee Steinfeld’s Starving, the two artists shared their own unique twist to the piece. Jorge played the guitar and put his Spanish skills to the test by incorporating it into the song, while Amber used her power chords to hit some high notes. Kelly ultimately goes with her gut and chooses the artist that she seems more growth in, which is Jorge.

Winner: Jorge

Reid vs. Davison (Team Adam)

Singing Rhianna’s Love on the Brain, this seemed like a stretch in style for both artists but they pulled it off. Davison gives off a soulful R&B style while Reid is the perfect mix of Adam and Blake. Ultimately, Adam goes with Reid and he’s off to the knockout rounds.

Winner: Reid

Bransen vs. Jaron (Team Blake)

The next three battle rounds were grouped up in a montage. First, we had Bransen vs Jaron on Team Blake perform the country song Head Over Boots. Though this song was more tailored towards Bransen’s style, Blake is impressed with Jaron’s ability to perform a different genre and wins his vote.

Winner: Jaron

Johnny vs. Megan (Team Alicia)

Next, we had Team Alicia’s Johnny vs Megan perform Versace on the Floor. Johnny ripped his jacket off during the performance leaving Kelly to stand up and pace the floor. His performance won his entry into the knockout rounds.

Winner: Johnny

Jamella vs. Teana (Team Kelly)

Last of the montage is Team Kelly’s Jamella and Teana singing Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow. Kelly says she needs to pick the person who can hold their ground against the other people on her team and goes with Jamella.

Winner: Jamella

Jordyn vs. Kelsea (Team Alicia)

Our final battle of the night leaves things off on a high note as these two powerhouse female singers perform Don’t Let Go. The two singers not only resemble one another but could act as triplets with their coach Alicia Keys. The coaches tell Kelsea they love her sultry tone while they tell Jordyn they love her power. Alicia decides to go with Kelsea, but the end of the road is not near for Jordyn because she gets a double-steal from both Adam and Kelly, ultimately choosing Team Adam.

Winner: Kelsea / Steal: Jordyn joins Team Adam

Another great night of battle rounds is in the books! We can’t wait to see how the rest of them play out next week. Make sure to tune into TalentRecap.com to read our thoughts!
