‘Voice’ Contestant Blames Porn Past For Elimination — Where Is Tyshawn Colquitt Now?

Tyshawn Colquitt auditioned for The Voice in Season 15 with a powerful rendition of Sam Smith’s “Like I Can.” Jennifer Hudson and Blake Shelton both turned their chairs and it was a battle to get him on their teams. Tyshawn Colquitt Landed On Jennifer Hudson’s Team On ‘The Voice’
Before coming onto The Voice, Tyshawn won Live at the Apollo three times as a teenager and three times as an adult. As the eldest of 12 siblings, his family struggled to make enough money to support each other. He then started a pound cake company with his mother called Pound 4 Sound. He delivers the cakes while singing.

During his Blind Audition in 2018, Tyshawn chose to be on Jennifer’s team. He sang “Love Lies” during The Battles where he went head to head with Zaxai. Tyshawn was declared the winner of The Battle. He made it all the way to The Knockouts where he was put up against Franc West. Tyshawn sang “Pillowtalk” by Zayn. Franc was declared the winner of The Knockout and Tyshawn was sent packing.
He Blamed His Porn Past For His Elimination
After his elimination from The Voice, Tyshawn spoke to Radar Online about doing gay porn in the past in order to help pay for college. “I feel like my elimination was not fair. I hate that my dark past took this opportunity away from me and my family,” he said.
“I got a presidential scholarship and my mom and I didn’t have any money to pay for any type of living expenses,” he added. “I was going through so many different things going on and it was not enough.” He went on to call it “a huge mistake.”
“During the time, I did not have a male figure in my life. It has always been a rocking chair with me” he continued. “Honestly, I was not expecting it to go as big as it did. So, I went to a place where I just gave up. I did not want to let anyone down and I did what I had to do to keep the money going.”
Where Is Tyshawn Now?
After revealing his past porn career to the world, Tyshawn received an outpouring of support. He now has over 15,000 Instagram followers and often posts videos, pictures and covers. Tyshawn started an OnlyFans account where he charges his fans $25 a month for exclusive content. His bio on the adult site says “all proceeds go towards musical expenses.” His website is also still advertising for his cake delivery company Pound 4 Sound.
In the summer of 2020, Tyshawn released a music video for the song “I’m Winning.”

Tyshawn is still looking to pursue a music career after he first impressed everyone with his incredible vocal abilities on The Voice.
