Travis Barker Told His Son to Turn Down The Voice

During a recent appearance on the New York Times’ Popcast podcast, Travis Barker shared that his son Landon (whom he shares with ex Shanna Moakler) had received an offer to appear on The Voice. Landon has released a few solo singles over the past several years, including the recent track “If I Ever Talk to God.”

“My son called me the other day and he’s like, ‘Hey, they offered me to go on The Voice,'” Barker said, according to E! News. “And I was like, ‘Dude, you’re way too cool for that.'”

Barker told Landon to “think about your idols,” adding, “If your idol is Kurt Cobain, would he ever do The Voice? No.'” However, he admitted that his statement was “contradicting,” considering Barker himself has performed on American Idol in the past.

“I’m different,” he argued. “I’m doing fun s–t that’s just fun for me ’cause I’m a drummer and I’m not on the forefront. It’d be different if I was singing with all these people.”
