The Big Difference Between Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert at Their Concerts
Reading Time: 2 minutes
Some people are comparing country stars Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert for how the two singers have interacted with fans at their concerts. While Lambert recently scolded concertgoers for taking selfies, Underwood actually took pictures with fans mid-performance.
Carrie Underwood Compared to Miranda Lambert
A video posted to TikTok shows American Idol winner Carrie Underwood bending down during a performance of “Before He Cheats” and taking a fan’s phone. She can be seen holding the phone up to take a selfie with the fans in the front row before handing the phone back.
One commenter wrote that the video shows “why she’s better than Miranda.” They’re referring to Miranda Lambert, who recently drew criticism after she called out fans for taking selfies during a recent concert. Lambert stopped her performance of “Tin Man” to scold the concertgoers.
“These girls are worried about their selfie and not listening to the song. It’s pissing me off a little bit,” Lambert can be heard saying in a video of the moment. “I don’t like it, at all. We’re here to hear some country music tonight, I’m singing some country damn music.”
After Lambert restarted the song, some concertgoers could be seen walking out. One attendee could be heard saying, “You don’t do that to fans.”

Fans Think Lambert Could Learn From Underwood
“See now this is classy and very much for her fans,” one person wrote in the comments of the Underwood video, calling Lambert’s recent treatment of her fans “trash.” Another user told Lambert to “watch and learn.”
“Be a Carrie. Be a Taylor [Swift]. Be a Reba [McEntire]. Not a Miranda,” wrote another user.
Meanwhile, Lambert seemed to double down on her anti-selfie stance during another performance this past weekend. The singer pointed out a concertgoer’s shirt, which read, “Shoot tequila, not selfies.” Lambert called it “badass.”
