Lara D earns the Golden Buzzer on 'Americas Got Talent' 2026

America’s Got Talent is set to return to screens on Tuesday, June 9. Among the auditioning contestants is singer Lara D, also known as Lara Dabbagh. Here’s everything to know about the 23 year old singer.

Who is Lara D?

Lara D is a singer hailing from Sydney, Australia. According to her website, this singer has been pursuing music since finding her love at eight years old. Her sound is contemporary pop that blends rhythms, vocals, and production all local to Australia. According to her website, she is often compared to Olivia Rodrigo, Alicia Keys, Billie Eilish, and Sabrina Carpenter.

The 23 year old is completely self-taught, her inspiration coming from her determination to make it globally. Lara D was previously signed to Sony Music Australia, and is now an independent artist.

At the time of writing, Lara D has 99.8K followers on Instagram, 50.3K followers on TikTok, and 130K subscribers on YouTube.

The singer rose to fame in 2019, when she competed on The Voice Australia. She made it all the way to the second round of the live shows before she was eliminated. On this show, she sang “Scars To Your Beautiful” by Alessia Cara, “Umbrella” by Rihanna, “Lovely” by Billie Eilish ft. Khalid, “Green Light” by Lorde, and “All The Stars” by Kendrick Lamar and SZA.

It’s reported that Lara auditioned for America’s Got Talent for Season 15 (2020), though her audition never aired. Apparently, she even appeared in the show’s promotional trailer. In the same year, Lara signed her first musical label deal with Sony Music Australia.

After leaving Sony Music Australia, she released her debut EP “Yours Truly.” She then released singles “Better By Myself” (2022), “Now” (2022), “A.T.M. (All the Money)” (2023), and “Crazy” (2025). As of writing, Lara D has 18,181 monthly listeners on Spotify.
