According to NewsNation, the New York City Sanitation Department has fined Swift more than $3,000 between 2018 and 2023 for trash outside her properties in two buildings on Franklin Street in Tribeca. Swift is apparently responsible for picking up trash on the sidewalk.
The New York Post reports that the trash found outside Swift’s building has included newspapers, bottles, cardboard, napkins, wrappers, and “scattered ashtray contents.”
“She doesn’t care about leaving trash out,” a dog walker told the outlet. “I think she’s more focused on her multi-million dollar tour that’s bankrupting all her fans.”
Lawyers have reportedly reduced the fines by around $200, but Swift is expected to pay the rest. NewsNation points out that Swift has also had issues with her Rhode Island home, as neighbors have complained about fans visiting to see the house and security kicking people off her section of beach.
