Simon Cowell Talks Harry Styles, The Royal Family
Reading Time: 2 minutes
Simon Cowell recently returned to late night television with an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! For those who may not know, it’s been nine years since Cowell’s last appearance on this talk show. Given that it’s been almost a decade, the two had plenty to talk about.
Cowell’s Experience With Meeting the Royal Family
One of the biggest topics discussed was Cowell’s introduction to the late Queen Elizabeth II. The talent show mogul explained that he had the opportunity to meet the queen about 15 years ago, during an episode of Britain’s Got Talent. At the time, he was able to meet her backstage.
Cowell then revealed their conversation, stating that the queen didn’t know he was, which amused the audience. In turn, although the late Queen Elizabeth II didn’t know BGT, Cowell revealed that Prince Harry was a frequent visitor at The X Factor UK. Cowell commented that he was the sweetest and nicest guy.
On the day of Queen Elizabeth II’s passing, the talent show mogul paid his respects on Instagram. Although Cowell did not write a caption to the post, the photo itself featured a heartfelt message.
What Cowell Thinks About Harry Styles Spitting on Chris Pine
While talking about BGT and The X Factor UK, the conversation quickly touched on Harry Styles spitting on Chris Pine. For those who may have missed it, the infamous incident took place at the 2022 Venice Film Festival and has earned the label “Spitgate.”
The former The X Factor judge took the side of the former One Direction member. He acknowledged that Styles would never purposely commit such an act. He continued, adding that Style is a polite and nice guy.
Both Cowell and Kimmel agreed that it might have been unintentional or even accidental. It is highly likely that the spitting never really happened, and that there is no bad blood between the two.
