American Idol Announces Season 25 Premiere Date

On Friday, the official American Idol Instagram account shared a post revealing that Season 25 of the show will premiere on ABC on Monday, February 8, 2027. New episodes will also be available for fans to stream the following day on Hulu.

According to the post’s caption, this will be “a season like never before.” The accompanying graphic shows the iconic Golden Ticket with the number 25 on it, to mark the show’s 25th anniversary. To celebrate this milestone, the show will air a two-hour special ahead of the season premiere.

The New Season Is Filming in Georgia

Season 25 of American Idol is notable not only because it marks a major anniversary year for the show, but also because production has moved out of California and into Georgia. That means the Golden Tickets handed out to singers with successful auditions will no longer take them to Hollywood.

Last month, the show’s judges were spotted filming in Savannah, Georgia. At one point, Luke Bryan could be seen climbing into a semi-truck with a camera crew following him. After honking the truck’s horn, Bryan could be heard joking, “How’s the insurance on this thing?” After moving the truck forward slightly, he asked, “I got you nervous?”
