Reading Time: 2 minutes
During this week’s new episode of Britain’s Got Talent Series 16, judge Simon Cowell followed Bruno Tonioli’s lead by hitting the Golden Buzzer for a second time. This time, the honor went to an inspiring dance group called Unity.
Simon Cowell Hits Second BGT Golden Buzzer for Unity
The members of Unity introduced themselves to the judges in matching black outfits. They shared that they’re all friends in college who decided to put a group together. For their audition, they performed a piece called “I Will.”
The group danced to a song called “The Village” by Wrabel. In between the dance performance, several members of the group shared their individual stories of being different and having people tell them they can’t do things.
The emotional routine earned a standing ovation from the judges and inspired the crowd to chant for the Golden Buzzer. That inspired Cowell to break the rules yet again, hitting the Golden Buzzer to send the group straight to the Semifinals.

What Did the Judges Think of the Performance?
Cowell wasn’t the only judge who was impressed by Unity’s performance. Tonioli told them their “choreography was superb” and said it gave him goosebumps. Amanda Holden said it was “such a beautiful, passionate piece.”
“I thought that actually was astonishing,” Cowell said of the group’s performance. “The way that you got your message across, it was so strong. It was an audition I’ll never forget. What you’ve done, you’ve done it your way.”
After Cowell hit the Golden Buzzer, Alesha Dixon shared her own thoughts on the performance, telling Unity that she was “very moved,” adding, “We heard your message loud and clear.”
Cowell previously teased that there were eight Golden Buzzers this season, so we can expect to see one more before the auditions are over. Stay tuned to find out who receives the honor.
