Rihanna has opened up about her pregnancy reveal at the Super Bowl earlier this year. The singer hinted that she didn’t actually intend to announce it, but a wardrobe malfunction didn’t exactly give her a choice.
Rihanna Talks About Super Bowl Pregnancy Reveal
In February, Rihanna performed in the Super Bowl Halftime Show wearing an all-red outfit that showed off her baby bump. She rubbed her belly as she performed. This was the first time the singer had confirmed her second pregnancy, but it sounds like she didn’t intend to make the announcement then.
Rihanna told Access Hollywood in a recent interview that the jumpsuit she was wearing at the time wouldn’t zip up before the performance, so she just went with it and showed off her bump, saying, “I did what I had to do, right?”
“No one knew I was pregnant. I just told my stylist, ‘Make sure it’s stretchy,'” Rihanna recalled. “So the undergarment was stretchy, and this was baggy. But the zip, it just stopped right there. So it had to be what it had to be.”
As for the performance itself, Rihanna described it as an “out-of-body experience.”

Seeing A$AP Rocky Be a Dad Is a ‘Turn On’
Rihanna gave birth to Riot Rose Mayers, her second son with A$AP Rocky, in August. The pair also shares another son named RZA Athelston Mayers, who celebrated his first birthday in May of this year.
Rihanna talked to Access Hollywood about being a mother, joking that RZA has her forehead but Riot doesn’t. She also shared what it’s like to watch A$AP Rocky be a father to their two sons.
“I loved him differently as a dad,” the singer shared. “It’s a turn on. It’s just, like, wow. What a leader. What a great, patient, loving… And my kids are obsessed with him. I’m just a background. Like, I’m an extra.”
