Nick Cannon Suggests Mariah Carey ‘Fumbled’ Him, Not the Other Way Around

Nick Cannon had some interesting things to say about his ex-wife Mariah Carey during a recent episode of his radio show The Daily Cannon. When his co-host said he “fumbled” things with Carey, Cannon suggested it was the other way around.

During a recent episode of The Daily Cannon, co-host Courtney Bee Bledsoe joked to Cannon that he “fumbled Mariah Carey.” Cannon immediately responded, “Did I?” Then he asked Bledsoe to “explain to me how I fumbled Mariah.”
“I’m playing,” Bledsoe said. “I don’t know. I just know you’re not with her, so it’s a fumble.”
That’s when Cannon suggested, “Maybe she fumbled me.” Bledsoe asked if Carey came home and told Cannon about her days. Cannon said he “was there.” Bledsoe didn’t miss a beat, saying, “That’s fair, but you didn’t make ‘Always Be My Baby,’ so … it’s a little different.”
Cannon and Carey tied the knot in 2008, the same year they started dating. After welcoming twins Monroe and Moroccan together in 2011, the couple separated in 2014. Carey filed for a divorce, which was finalized in 2016.

One Fan Says Cannon Is Backpedaling
The Daily Cannon‘s Instagram post has received mixed reactions from fans. User @lynn_ladylogos brought up Carey’s “massive diva/personality issue” as a potential reason for their split. However, other commenters pointed out how much Cannon talks about Carey to this day.
“Sir, you ABSOLUTELY fumbled her and you know it,” wrote user @grind.kpl. “And you’re STILL dealing with it cause you can’t stop bringing her up, yet she’s living her best life without you. You’ve repeatedly let the whole world know you fumbled, so now is not the time to backpedal just because someone clapped back on you.”
Last year, Cannon described his marriage to Carey as being “like a fairy tale,” saying, “I will never have a love like I had with Mariah.” Then earlier this year, he called her a “gift from God.”
Other users argued that Carey is better off without Cannon, who has since fathered 10 more children with five more women. As @heyygirl wrote, “MC absolutely DID NOT fumble him and his cult. Sis definitely dodged a bullet lol.”
